Ingredient spotlight
Saw Palmetto Extract
Extracted from the berries of Serenoa repens, saw palmetto has been used traditionally in everyday men's wellness routines for centuries. It is one of the most widely studied plant extracts in men's pelvic health literature. Hardero includes 160 mg per serving.
Zinc
Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal testosterone levels, to normal fertility and reproduction, and to normal immune function. New Zealand soils can be zinc-variable; a daily supplement provides a reliable, consistent intake at 100% NRV.
Lycopene
The carotenoid pigment that gives tomatoes their red colour. Lycopene contributes to normal cell function and is among the more bioavailable carotenoids when taken in supplement form alongside a small amount of dietary fat.
Vitamin E
A fat-soluble antioxidant vitamin. Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress - relevant for men over 50 whose antioxidant intake from diet may be inconsistent.
Selenium
Selenium contributes to normal thyroid function, normal immune function, and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. New Zealand soils are notably low in selenium; supplementation is commonly recommended by New Zealand nutritionists.
Pumpkin Seed Extract
Pumpkin seeds have been used traditionally in men's wellness routines. Pumpkin seed extract is included in Hardero as a complementary plant ingredient alongside saw palmetto.
